one step at a time

27 Mar

Screen Shot 2014-03-27 at 7.16.09 AMI will ask you to excuse my absence, however I will not apologize for it. The last month of my life has been a whirlwind, and unfortunately not the good kind. After getting over some challenging health and financial struggles in late February, March brought me the devastating death of my Grandfather. Life has a funny way of humbling you… it is never fair, but for the most part, it tries to be good. I always say that in the darkest times you find light, and what I mean by that is when something bad does happen, you can also see all of the good that remains untouched. I have such an amazing family, a loving fiancé and some of the kindest friends… it is through their love that I always find the strength to carry on. Yesterday the universe sent me timely advice with some beautiful little spring flowers poking out of the dead-brush in the front garden, reminding me that everything is cyclical and from death springs life.

oh, hello there.

17 Aug

A big hello to all of you wonderful people! I’m sorry I’ve been quiet lately; I’ve been busy finishing up some exciting commissioned projects (one pictured below) ordered via etsy, (still) unpacking into the new pad/studio, and also preparing for a big opportunity that just came my way (I can’t spill the beans until mid-September).20130817-071818.jpg20130817-071833.jpg

I thought I shouldn’t stay mute for too long though, and wanted to ensure you that I have some fun things to share soon. The most exciting of which will be some peeks into the new studio!!! I also plan to do a “half full” bike ride adventure soon (my other optimistic outings can be seen here, here and here). I started carving a new relief plate for some prints this fall and am excited to see the piece evolve. I recently tapped into my green thumb again, and treated the new place to some pretty plants (a couple pictured below).20130817-071908.jpgIs there something you’d like to see on the blog in the near future? Features you’d like to have come back? DIYs you’d like to learn? Leave a comment with your ideas! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Xo

a quiet week

12 Oct

I wish I could say I spent this past week with my toes dangled at the water’s edge, like in this lovely photo from summer… sadly instead my feet have been curled up tight against my body amongst a pile of warm blankets and soft kleenex. A horrible cold/flu hit me and I have literally been down for the count all week. Apologies to my readers who have been hoping to hear about some new creative adventures… I intend to kick ass and take names next week (and yes, will write about it too)! I hope you’re all in good health and being productive. xo
