feeling the pressure

14 Nov

Sorry to use bad puns, but I have been feeling the pressure (both literally and figuratively) this week; I have been spending a lot of time hand-pressing new coasters, magnets, pocket mirrors and buttons in preparation for The Make It! Handmade Revolution show in Edmonton, Alberta which is a short 7 sleeps away, so it is crunch time!!!

pressing away

I have been pressing forward with my preparations for OOAK, literally! After finishing close to 700 magnets recently, I feel pretty accomplished knowing that I just produced the same amount of pinback buttons this week! I still have more button press projects to finish up, but getting a big chunk of these tedious repetitive tasks finished, and now leaves more room for me to soon play with altered books, mixed media pieces & some long-awaited printmaking projects

busy in the studio

I’m pretty much at the month deadline mark I gave myself for the One of a Kind Vancouver Show and Sale. Heeding the advice of my sister I want to finish creating and give myself a minimum of 2 weeks before the show to just price, package, plan, label & organize everything. I’ve been trying hard completely FINISH product sections, and currently am focusing on magnets and buttons. About 300 deep and a few more hundred to go. Seems as though I am currently stuck creating endless circles with my paper cutter but I do love being productive in my gorgeous studio with some good tunes on.
