’tis the season

1 Dec

December has arrived and that means it’s time to get into the holiday spirit! I thought I’d share some  Canadian vintage seasonal stamps to help get you in a holly jolly mood too…

Beautiful!! I’m slightly disappointed by the Christmas stamps this year. I loved the Parks Canada one and feel like the Christmas ones were made without a lot of originality or personality, just very generic. I blame the focus groups they hire. :-(

I know what you mean – it’s always stained glass or angels singing or something very generic!
I actually quite like the permanent value Holly stamps – but only because of the shiny snowflakes printed on top in metallic that you can only see at certain angles. (I actually got in an argument with the postoffice COW who was like “That’s HOLLY not a SNOWFLAKE” and I was like “IT HAS SNOWFLAKES ALL OVER IT” and she looked twice, didn’t apologize but at least shut up haha).

That lady needs a cookie or a good shagging. I only took a quick glance at the holly/flakes permanent ones and didn’t notice the spot varnish! I might have bought those instead, had I noticed. I liked the size of the stained glass ones so went with those.
