in business

3 Jun

Seems as though it’s been a long time coming now, but I truly feel like all of my art/career plans are falling into place….. but the one thing that has really stopped me from getting to the markets or having my online shop launched already was the fact that I needed new business cards! I spent a good chunk of time in April designing , but when it came to uploading my files, I had the wrong specs, and thus was back at square one! I let this important job sit for far too long (probably because I was frustrated), but a few weeks ago I got my act together, designed them properly, uploaded them and have been waiting patiently for my cards to arrive ever since.  I don’t know where I found such good luck, but on the eve of the postal strike, my business cards arrived! How rad is that? I was like a little girl on Christmas!!! My business cards are printed by a fabulous company called moo. They have a distinct feature for their cards called printfinity which allows you to submit up to 100 images for the backs of your cards, while the front is the same image which would contain your contact info, websites, company name, etc. Apart from very reasonable pricing, I was really attracted to the mini-card look (something non-traditional that will help make me stand out) plus this idea of having my portfolio in a back pocket was just genius. Now when people ask what I do, I can SHOW them, not just hand them a card with contact info, blab aimlessly to describe what I create and hope that they make it to my websites. The multiple images also increases the fun and interaction of a card exchange, because I can have a conversation about the cards/images and the customer gets to choose which artwork of mine is their favorite. The top left and bottom right cards are flipped over to show you what’s on the back of every card, the rest demonstrate 30 of my selected artworks which feature etchings, screenprints, goccos, drawings, altered books & jewelry. I think they are just absolute beauties and so to be honest, the only thing I’m worried about now, is people wanting to take more than one card!

Yup, I want more than one–I want one of each! ;) They really turned out awesome. If I *had* to pick one favorite, it’d probably be the bear that is also your twitter icon. I just love the placement of him on the card with all the white space overhead. I’m so tempted to get a batch of moo cards printed for myself now!

I got some of these mini cards printed awhile back and I am really happy with them as well. I gave a stack to my family as well and they pass them out for me too.

They turned out SO WELL! Love the unconventional size, the fact that you can have so many different images and the excellent quality. Definitely sold on Moo when I’m ready for cards.

Your new business cards look wonderful! I understand how hard it is to pick only one. I use Moo as well for my business cards and mini cards and they never disappoint me!

I *love* Moo cards, but you are right, people do want to take more than one each! I also got one of their Moo keyring card holders, so I am never without a card to give to someone. Your cards look absolutely fantastic – good luck with everything :)
