lle nick, llove & llamas

24 Feb

One of my bestest friends ever, Nick Oostyen aka Le Nick, finally replied to my mail art with the help of his lady, Olivia (I think after 2 postcards and a several envelopes stuffed with stickers and faux moustaches, he realized I was desperate for something in return). I was extra excited because I had already done several walks to the post box in -20 degree weather or colder this week & was tired of not being rewarded. It was so RAD to find this.

The envelope was an indicator of the things to come inside… In the summer Nick and I stumbled upon a FREE STUFF section at a thrift shop in Invermere, and there was an entire box of llama magazines. Yes, a monthly publication all about llamas, and at least a years worth of them to boot. With my love of obscure objects & a big list of mail art friends who enjoy random found objects, I knew I had to take them home with us. Nick decided that he only wanted to keep one, and as you can see by his reply, it has gone to good use.

It really is hard to pick a favorite collage from le Nick’s package… which one do you love most? The drunken-pete-doherty-look-a-like hybrid llama, the two casual llamas chillin’ at the skate park, the chubby kid reading at the library with two studious chicks, a mustached man and a llama or the skateboarding llama hitting some mad vertical? Tough choice, eh?

Love ’em! The two llamas chillin’ at the skatepark are definitely my favourite, though!

All great stuff. But me thinks the stunt llama gettin’ air on his skateboard is the raddest. :)
