Although we just recently passed the mid-way mark of September, I am already working super hard towards the December One of a Kind Show in Vancouver. I need to make sure I will have tons of product ready, and I don’t want to be a stress case by the time the show rolls around. Since completing my relief edition, I have been focusing my attention onto my altered book journals. I thought I’d share four of my favorite recently finished journals out of the eight I’ve completed so far. They speak to me of course because their titles are all nature or animal related, but the colours are also really up my alley.Sadly I am too busy to list any of these items in my etsy shop, but I do have five journals listed in my recycled book journals section. If you are truly in love with and interested in one of the above volumes, I could send you further pictures and would happily make a quick custom listing in the shop, just send me an e-mail. Thanks for taking a peek at my fresh creations from studio, I always have fun doing anything with old books.
I’m still learning the ins and outs of Etsy, and am determined to make my online shop a success by the time a year flies by. I opened up on June 30th with a plethora of items, but of course have been working hard to add more ever since. I want it to be fresh, have tons of selection, and be a shop people come back to again and again. Apart from social networking, and hitting the pavement with my business cards at shows and expos, taking the time to list new product I’ve made is a habit I also need to get into more often. So today I am adding to my etsy shop, three of my lovely altered book journals that are all hand-bound. I will also be listing brand new original drawings, paintings, greeting cards, buttons, magnets, hand-pulled prints & more before the end of August, so do visit again soon!
It’s Monday: which means the day of reckoning has arrived! I packed up my wooden panels and all 28 of my creations and headed off for town. I dropped my artwork off at Pynelogs, set up my framed feathers installation and the gallery will be hanging my etchings and altered books. I’m excited to see how it all turns out. There are 7 other artists who have created solo exhibitions over the past 6 months and will also display their works in the gallery. Tomorrow I’m going to visit my girlfriends’ cafe for lunch and check out the exhibition, then indulge in wine and good conversation at the opening reception on Wednesday from 7-9 pm. I hope a few people snatch up some pieces, sales are always a thrill. Speaking of snatching up artwork: in celebration of my exhibition, I am having a SUPER SALE at my etsy shop on my limited edition screen-printed moleskines. Grab the set HERE for only $33 CAD! Save $15 off the original cover prices! Perfect for your thoughts, ideas & sketches. SALE IS ON ONLY UNTIL THE 18TH OF JULY SO DON’T MISS OUT!
